Setup the Automation

You’ll need to setup an automation on your form database. To do this:

• Click the lightning icon on the database.

• Click “+ New Automation” in the pop up box.

• In the new automation window, click “+New trigger”.

  • Then choose “+ Page Added” for when there’s a new response (added as a page to your database.

• Under “Do” click “+ New action”
  • Select Send mail to…
  • Follow the instructions to setup the Notion integration with Gmail.

• Fill in the Subject
• Add the message. We’ll have it send us a link to the response. So click the Σ in the message box.

Copy this little bit of Notion code and paste it in to have it send a link to the response.

Note Notion as of the time of writing this tutorial does not allow me to include the Trigger Page variable in the formula.

• To add this, you’ll need to click on “Trigger Page” to add it to the formula.
• Then click save on the formula.

• Finally, save your automation.

Testing

To test your automation

• click Share Form
• ensure your form has “Who can fill out” set to
• copy the url in the popup box and paste it into your browser.

• fill out the form
• wait a bit for the automation to run (It took several minutes for my test to go through.)
